When to use it?
If the crown of the tooth is severely damaged or can no longer be repaired with a filling, we make a crown.
First, we prepare the tooth in a cone form, take an impression, and use this impression to make a zirconia crown at a dental laboratory.
The crown is then placed on the prepared tooth just like a cap. The zirconia crown protects the tooth from fractures, preserves its colour, and is durable.

A porcelain crown protects the tooth from any fractures and from further loss of tooth material, is very durable and retains its colour. In some cases, we use it if we want to significantly improve the appearance of the teeth, as it is perfect for achieving beautiful colour and shape corrections. Furthermore, in case of tooth replacement with dental bridge, crowns can serve as the supporting pillars of the bridge.
Dental crowns and bridges are extremely aesthetic in appearance, no one can tell they are not your original teeth.
Metal-ceramic crowns:
metal-ceramic crowns are based on a strong nickel-free, anti-allergenic metal or gold frame, with a porcelain veneer burnt on. As a result, they look like original teeth.
Zirconia crowns:
Zirconium-dioxide is the base material of zirconia crowns. This is an entirely metal-free material with a high level of hardness. Zirconia crowns are made using computer CAD-CAM designing. The porcelain layer is placed on this strong and hard frame, as in the case of a metal-ceramic crown. The great advantage of zirconia crowns over metal-frame crowns is that they are more translucent and therefore have a more naturel appearance. Zirconia crowns are even stronger than metal-frame crowns.
Pressed ceramic crowns:
At our clinics, we also use e.max pressed ceramic crowns. Pressed ceramic crowns are made of lithium disilicate, which is the strongest ceramic used in the mouth. It also has the great advantage of providing an outstanding aesthetic effect. Pressed ceramic is a metal-free teeth replacement that is fully hypoallergenic.
In some cases, the tooth is severely damaged and there is not enough tooth material available to support the crown. In such instances, for teeth that have undergone root canal treatment, a pin or fibreglass pin made in a dental laboratory can be glued into the root canal, and the crown can be securely attached on it.
Yes, while your teeth replacement is being prepared, we will make a temporary replacement for you at the clinic immediately. Naturally, it's not as beautiful and durable as the final dental crown, but it's good enough so that no one will notice a thing.
The treatment takes approximately 1-2 weeks. During this time, you will have to visit our clinic 2-3 times. On your first visit we take an impression, then the technician prepares the frame for the crown, on the second visit is a frame test, and then on your third visit we glue it in place.
No one will notice your dental crown, it will be so beautiful and natural that no one will be able to tell it apart from a real tooth. The colour of the crown is selected with great care, and when it's ready, we do a test to make sure everything is perfect. Only then will we glue it in place permanently. Your smile will be as perfect as ever.
The crown itself does not decay; however, if it is not properly cleaned and cared for around the edges, the tooth itself can start to decay. That's why it's important to learn how to clean them properly, and our colleagues will show you the proper technique.
With proper care, they can last for 10-15 years.
Although metal ceramic crowns do have a metal frame, it will never show because all of the crowns we make have what is called a porcelain collar, which ensures that the metal will never show.
